Tennis racquet restringing?

December 31, 2009 - 6:54 am 4 Comments

My tennis racquet needs restringing but i haven’t had it done before so im not sure how to get it done. I play competitively for a club and i use a wilson hammer 7. im a baseline player. im not wimbledon though so i don’t want to have the best strings that money can buy. any help?
i mean as in what type of strings should i get have and what tension?

Just take it into your club, and have them string it. For you, and everybody else here who might read this, I would never take a frame to a sporting goods store for stringing. They don’t always have a certified stringer. Sometimes it’s just some teenager who has been shown once how to use it, and has no other work to do…

Anyhow, clubs usually have a default string they use. It’s usually just a standard synthetic gut string. The place I go uses Prince syn. gut with duraflex. It’s a good enough string, and very cheap. Seems to last a decent amount of time. But if this is your first restringing, breaking strings probably isn’t such an issue for you. This way, all you have to do is drop the frame off at the club, tell them the tension you want, and wait a few days. No need to worry much about the strings.

So, what about that tension? Your racquet should have a tension range printed inside the throat of the frame somewhere. For example, if it says 60±5lbs, the range is from 55-65 lbs. Now, I’m going to ask you to think about your current play with this frame. Do you find that you hit the ball deep a lot? If this is the case, string 1-2lbs above the middle tension (in our example, mid tension is the 60lbs). On the other hand, if have difficulty hitting deep, penetrating shots, string 1-2lbs below mid tension. If you’re perfectly happy with how your frame has felt to you so far, then just string it at that middle tension.

And keep an eye out on those indicators. If you string at 60 now, and start to notice that something just isn’t right, use the same guidelines I gave above to determine the tension you’ll use next time you string.

is there a charge to work out in the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines fitness centers?

I am not 100% sure if imfact the fitness center is free because in every site that i go i see them saying "weight machines, free weights, stationary spin bikes, stair steppers, treadmills, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, and thermal suites. Plus a sweeping ocean view that extends for miles! We also offer all the latest classes, from pilates to spinning to kickboxing, for all levels." And the exert that i just shared is from their site.

If you realsie they say FREE Weights but they didnt plainly say the fitness center is free and we all know it has much mre things than weight sin it so i am not 100% sure but the link below ill show you what they offer in the fitness cenetr:

Good luck and enjoy!

EDIT: I called a travel agency and they told me that the fitness center is FREE so you dont have to worry. She said the only thing you have to really pay for is if you want to get your hair dont or go to the spa or get your nails done or alcholic beverages.

Hope this helped.

What are the benefits of joining high school club, sports, and activities?

December 31, 2009 - 6:53 am 5 Comments

Hi, im a high school student and some teachers recommended me to join any high school activities such as club, sports, and dance activities. i was thinking about joining the track team but I thought that joining the track team wouldnt really give me a huge impact for my future since im not going to be a track person in the future.
So what are the benefits??

well i run track but i dont plan on continuing it in college or as a career. but ive benefited from it and become more active. but the main thing about it is that you get to meet lots of new people from other schools and even people at your school you probably didn’t even know yet. you become more social and i believe sports has a positive impact on people. sure it makes you have competition but it is really helpful especially if you’re going to college it helps you become a focused and determined because you knw how to deal with pressure and learn to achieve goals. but you should definitely join a club your interested in it will be fun. but doing things like that looks great for college but also helps to make you a more well rounded respectable person.

Should older unmarried men be restricted from fitness clubs?

since they fit the profile of george sodini

Sure, and while we’re at it let’s restrict all 18 year old white young men from high school because they fit the profile of Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris from Columbine.

How to keep up with more athletic basketball players?

December 31, 2009 - 6:53 am 5 Comments

I’m a 6′7 freshman and there are other ppl around my size but they’re more athletic they jump higher and are quicker. What is the best way for me to still play good against players like that?

Skills. If you develop your skills you’ll shut off the more athletic guys. They rely on their speed and their jumping ability. I tell you these because I’m athletic and a lot of times other players who are more skilled outplay me.

How safe (as far bacteria, fungus, viruses etc…) are whirlpool spas in health clubs?

You have to watch out for staff infection. If you have cuts that are healing I would wait until they are closed before you go in.

Does a lifetime membership contract with a health club have to be in writing?

December 31, 2009 - 6:53 am 1 Comment

It is always smart to get contracts in writing. This question concerns the legal enforceability of a contract if the parties choose not to place it in writing. Would it be enforceable if the parties did not put it in writing?

49 out of 50 states use the Uniform Commercial Code, which covers contract law. If you have nothing in writing then you are pretty much screwed as it boils down to you saying one thing and the other guy saying another. Your word against his. Not enforceable.

Get all contracts in writing, always.
