24 Hour Fitness is just that, 24 hour open and most of the sport gyms have pools.
Hey i want to get a nice body. i have been running and all but i dont really wanna get my arms and legs big just get them toned and mostly work on my abs and chest. Would the Fitness Quest Total Gym 1100 be good for working my abs in a good fast way?! like i said im not really looking for weight lifting just somethin i can tone my muscles up and get a nice chest and abs?

There is no such thing as spot fat loss. You have to lose them overall and since the abs is the most difficult place to lose fat for men, you will need to lose majority of your fat first.

I’m was invited to the Chicago Racquet Club "Last Days of Disco" event tonight. I’ve never been there, but wikipedia describes it as "a pretigious athletic club". Dress code on the invitation says "Disco Attire or Black Tie". As a girl who is not going in disco attire, should my dress be black? Any color? long? Short?
Knee length, black, navy, etc color dress. Of course, black tie can also be formal… But you will be safe in a black, knee to mid calf length cocktail dress. Think of investing in a "little black dress" for these events
Is there anything I should know before committing to their contract?
I tried the local Curves. I did not like it. It was very ‘cliquey’ and it reminded me of Junior High. I think if I went to a larger gym I would have found a different environment. I thought a women’s only gym would be good because I am self conscious when I’m working out (I mean come on who isn’t)?
I want to make some new friends in my locality, but a lot of the clubs and groups are sports ones, and I absolutely detest sport and am useless at it? Can I please have some suggestions for other group hobbies?

or is that included in the membership? I was with another fitness club before before I moved but only went to run on the tread mill or do some weights. I live in Southern California now so if anyone could suggest somewhere where I can sign up? Im on a low budget though. I need someone who knows more about health then me. Im a fit guy but just want to build a little more muscle. I usually go running but I want to do more than that.
hey im a 27 year old female personal trainer at a gym. You have to pay extra for a personal trainer because they work with you, one on one. I mean that’s what I do, and that’s how my gym works. Its usually this way 90% of the time. I don’t live in California so I can’t help you to find a facilty. I’m a fitness trainer and I need to look professional, but also be able to lead a workout for my clients. I hate the look of traditional running shoes with suits. Is there any other athletic shoe/cross training shoe that might pass for a regular shoe with a streamlined fit?

This kid thinks he’s the s**t because he has a job and he acts like he knows everything, but he trains kids how to play sports and he sucks at sports himself……All my friends are better than him at everything.
NO!, this kid sounds like hes not very informed on the subject, and probably thinks he is cool for having a job.
I have 3 products that I would like to get into health clubs. These are products that help in curing aching muscles. I do not have a huge salesforce that can go from one health club to another. Does anyone know of a health club buying group that is already providing products to health clubs that I could contact?

Maybe you could sell in a health food store? Make sure you have liability insurance for your product, in case of misuse or adverse reactions.
I am thinking of joing the David LLoyd health club in York. It is more for the kids than me. I am interested to find out if anyone would recommend it or not?

Also, do the prices vary per area? As I could always go to the Leeds one as it might be cheaper.
I’m in Leeds but I doubt our one is cheaper ! Especially if you live in York, I can’t imagine that Leeds would be that much cheaper as to make it worth travelling over. Still worth checking out the pricing on each though. I’ve heard loads of good things about David Lloyd but if it’s mainly for the kids I’m sure they’d be just as happy with a less expensive place. There is Fitness First in Kirkstall, my uncle is a personal trainer there.
