What is a good price for one month of a gym membership at LA Fitness?

February 28, 2010 - 12:41 am 1 Comment

I’m going to LA Fitness tomorrow to see if I like the place and also to see how much it will be. The guy on the phone said that they only do month-to-month memberships. I’m just wondering what other people pay who go there, or to any other gym.

I pay 38 dollars Canadian for a gym that I go to. It’s a sports and wellness center. So has basketball courts, a workout area, a couple pools, a sauna and so forth.

which gym is better , which would u choose?

how much is the monthly fee at Commonwealth Sports Club in Boston?

February 28, 2010 - 12:40 am 3 Comments

any body know how much is the monthly and enrollment fee at commonwealthsportsclub.com ?

I paid $99 to enroll, and $79 per month. But they seem to run a special in January or so where the enrollment is free. If you refer to that, they might waive the fee. They also have student rates, senior rates, probably looking hot rates.

I Applied at 24 hour fitness online, should i call and do a follow up?

February 28, 2010 - 12:40 am 4 Comments

I applied just today, and i was wondering since it is an online application, they have no idea who you are. Should i go in and introduce myself? Or should i call them and tell them im doing a followup on my application? Ive worked only in retail stores before so i dont know how fitness clubs differ from retail. Any help would be great, if you work or worked at 24, even better. Thanks in advance for the advice.

i would wait a week or so before calling give them time to process the applications

How do our social interactions correspond to athletic competitions, and how do they differ? How does the……?

How do our social interactions correspond to athletic competitions, and how do they differ? How does the difference affect our sense of what is fair and unfair about the rules of social interaction?

Just to let people know that this is for research pruposes only. Not my homework. I have a test on Wenesday and this is simply to advance my knowledge when it comes to this issue. Thanks.

well every social situation people find themselve in has to do with some type of competition…because everyone’s judging sstatusquo, athletic build, posture, rresemblance ect well in sports people are playing…where in life people are dog-e-dog…or they only care about themselves…most sports require teams…but theres many sports witch don’t require team…and in those types of sports you see alittle more greed…and in games theres set rules or even a sport you have set rules…in society theres rules…but people twist the rules to there advantage…(more offen then in sports…)reason being theres officials watching you at all times in a athletic event..where in life you only have the eyes of others..and a few authoritive figures as welll..it’s kinda hard.. because life is pretty mucha never ending athletic event…lolyour quetions kinda contradicts it’s self…

What is a reasonable monthly price to pay for a health club with a heated pool? ?

February 28, 2010 - 12:40 am 2 Comments

I have until 1/15/09 to decide if $55 is good.
I have arthritis and a knee replacement so I need a pool.

Check with your local YMCA. Often their rates are cheaper than the health clubs. Also, we have health clubs here that offer arthritis classes to non-members. They are usually 6 weeks or so and cost around $35-40. Perhaps a club near you offers this. Check with local high schools that have pools. The HS pools here have open swim times and you can go for a dollar or two. Good luck.

is there a fitness center at circus circus in vegas?

February 26, 2010 - 3:28 am 2 Comments

my best friend is taking me and some others to vegas for her birthday. we’re staying at circus circus and i was wondering if there is a fitness center there?

They have a small room, with four machines (1 treadmill, stairmaster, "cardio machine", something else, some free weights, and a universal weight machine..i’m assuming a bo-flex type thing). $5 for the day, open all day. The person on the phone even hesistated to refer to it as a "fitness center". But if you’re just looking for something to keep the Vegas buffet weight off..I think it’ll work just fine. and $5 is a lot cheaper than what some of the other casinos do charge for their "Fitness centers" (i.e. like $20-50 for the day). Have Fun!

do you consider this rude behavior at a fitness gym?

February 26, 2010 - 3:27 am 9 Comments

If someone was working out, rested, then someone else comes up to that person and says "Wanna switch (weight machines), since your just sitting there?" When the guy was only sitting there for a couple minutes for rest between sets, and there apparently were other weight machines in the gym that were just like that one? Do you think this guy was trying to intimidate the other guy, acting macho by trying to rush him off the machine sooner?

Can people like this be kicked out of a gym?

Is this common behavior in a gym?

I don’t think it’s rude, in general and compared to some of the other stuff I see. like people need machines, and sitting doing nothing for a few minutes on a mchine is a huge interruption to the other guys workout which wouldn’t be a big deal, but since he’s not doing anything, it is kinda rude on the guy who isn’t doing anything.

besides compared to the people not putting weights back on the rack when they’re done and people talking to you during your w/o and on their phones during theirs, asking politely to switch a machine when you arent using it isn’t bad lol
