it’s also called being a fatty, I’m kind of…how do you say, umm hearty…and I fear that I might break a machine and have to pay for it.

I broke a Breathalyzer machine once at a bar, I just ran away bouncing off the other patrons with my hands waving frantically and yelling " YOWSA"
your no fatty, maybe perkishly plump

Does anyone know of any nice clean health clubs in Mississauga?

I’m looking for a place that’s clean, that has new or newer equipment. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

These are all the services for this gym or fitness center. They have been filled out by either a Myfit.ca employee, a visitor of the gym, or an employee of the facility. A checked service means they have that available

Are most health clubs a bad investment?

Virtually every health club (gym) I have ever been to has gone out of business. It seems like fitness centers are the only enterprise that actually goes out of business by selling more memberships. I have noticed that almost every health club has the same problem. First they sell a lot of memberships, then they get too crowded, then memberships drop off, then they go out of business.

I don’t really know, but one time my Dad bought into an embalming fluid business and told me that successful businessmen don’t buy restaurants, racehorses, or vineyards because everyone wants to make money with those. Instead they buy embalming fluid businesses because everyone else thinks that’s yucky. Seems to me that health clubs fall more in line with restaurants, racehorses and vineyards then they do with embalming fluids.

TRUE or FALSE: Health Clubs and Fitness Gyms are the best places to find Your Ideal Partner?

I based this question on personal experience..not mine but Liesy’s..she was always getting hit on when she went to the GYM..She decided to play her MP3’s loud and ignore them all..Heaps of sordid affairs went on in that GYM.

NO. Talk about superficial.

c:

im not overweight, i just have zero muscle mass.
maybe thats what im so insecure about, i gotta get JUICED.
thanks for the help everyone.

First of all, congrats on taking your first step towards a healthier life!

I know how you feel. I am one of those people that actually NEEDS to go to the gym, not a skinny bimbo with big boobs trying to pick up guys at the gym (haha I make myself laugh). I am overweight I am am especially self conscious about my thighs. If that is the case with you, just wear long gym pants that are made of light material until you are comfortable wearing shorts. When you first start out, keep it simple. You’re not trying to impress anyone. Just take a walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes most days of the week. Then, when you feel you are ready to move up, try the elliptical. One step at a time.

Also, go to the gym in the morning if possible, not the afternoon or evening. That is when the gym is most busy and all the size 0 models come in. Late morning (about 10am) is when my gym is most empty. Good Luck!

do health clubs legally have to clean their equipment?

February 28, 2011 - 2:13 am 3 Comments

at my health club I never see anyone employed wiping the machines for disinfecting purposes.

I have never heard of any law that requires it, but if someone were to get an infection from one of the machines then the health club could be sued for negligence.

What are the best Gyms/health clubs in Miami and how much do they cost?

January 10, 2011 - 8:24 am 3 Comments

I will be looking for a gym/health club in Miami, in or near South Beach. My main focus is lifting weights, but my girlfriend is also joining, though, so she will want some cardio equipment, possibly a pool, and a comfortable environment. Preferably something that isn’t super-crowded or filled with TOO many douchebags (obviously, some are unavoidable anywhere), and has decent equipment. Prices would be very helpful as well.

I would avoid ballys or la fitness because they are walmart -quality generic gyms that attract the worst element of people, anyway I don’t think there are any near the beach.

There is a Crunch (boxing gym), pretty nice. It is great for weight training and cardio. I think Hulk Hogan works out there. Sorry, but I don’t know the cost.

Equinox is really nice, very high class, but I think it runs about $100 a month, but prices like that weed out most of the douche bags.

Also, there is Golds Gym, I am not really sure about the price, but my boyfriend is a personal trainer and he says it is kind of a dump.

You may want also want to consider the parking situation at the beach. Most of the gyms do not have there own parking lots, but if you live in walking distance it shouldn’t be a problem.

I go to world Gym (not in Miami) but they are all over the east coast, and many cities have them. you should see if miami has one. They have weights and cardio equipment. You can get a joint account so instead of paying $60/each you pay $30 and yopur girlfriend pay $30. Golds gym are everywhere too. I like world gym cuz they offer cycling class, cardio dance class, mine does capoeira, abs class, lotsa stuff. well nevermind I just looked it up, miami has no world gym the nearest one is ft lauderdale and there’s a golds gym in hollywood and miami lakes.. proably too far for u
