What Experience Is Needed To Become Athletic Director?

I want to become an athletic director so how do I start? I graduate next year with my Bachelor’s in Business and Sports Management. Should I coach this upcoming summer? Do I need to get a teacher certificate? I need some help so I can get started.

You should at least have some varsity level coaching experience, and preferably some coaching experience in more than one sport. If you want to be in a high school setting, you should have teaching credentials, probably in phys. ed. so that you are qualified to supervise all the sports activities. If you want to be AD in a college, you should still be a PE major but having teaching credentials would not be required. You would probably need even more coaching experience, I would guess.

So I’ve gone to gyms before but they never really worked for my because I have a lot of injuries so I couldn’t do a lot of the machines that they had. The athletic club that is in my area (ottawa orleans area) has a pool and a buch of other thing that I could do. I was just wondering how much it was.

If it has many amenities, it is meant to be more exclusive than the general community center. Therefore, call and speak to the director of admissions for the information or look on the website.

My bag got stolen in locker of fitness club, am I entitle for compensation by the club?

It’s in the contract that members put things at their own risk in locker and they are not responsible.

You answered your OWN question…."members put things at their own risk in locker and they are not responsible". Your ONLY hope is that you can PROVE gross negligence by a staff member of the club.

I go to school and I plan on being an Athletic Trainer when I get out. I am doing a research paper for school and I need to know what injuries do athletic trainers have the right to take care of, and which injuries they don’t have the right to take care of. Any information is helpful, thanks.

You know, you could have asked me this in the training room….silly. For a general idea of what the scope of practice of an athletic trainer is, go to www. nata.org. This gives a general description of our profession as well as the six domains that cover what we do. In general, we will take care of sprains, strains, contusions, wounds, etc. Management of concussions also falls under our scope of care. If something falls outside of our scope of practice, it is our job to identify that, and refer the injured athlete to the proper advanced care. Obviously I’m not going to reset a fractured bone, but I do have to splint the injury until the athlete can be taken to the doctor for further treatment.

I am going to a beach in Europe with friends, but I only brought my athletic speedo swimsuit (for females) because I’ve "outgrown" my other beach swimsuit. Is it weird to wear an athletic (black) swimsuit to the beach?

I would think so
the women in Europe don’t wear bathing suits like that, and they arent as modest

but do whatever makes you comfortable

I’m working on a campaign for the opening of a new high-end fitness club. It is their second club opening and they want to make people aware of the new club opening as well reinforce the fact that they are a premium club. I’m looking for any suggestions or ideas on Tag-lines, Slogans or Phrases for the campaign. I’m a bit stumped right now. It needs to come off as the ‘BMW’ of fitness clubs.
