What gym/fitness centre should I join?

I’m thinking of joining a gym here in the UK. I’ve checked out JJB Fitness and kinda like it, but I want to know what other gyms out there that can offer me value-for-money gym experience.
Any recommendations?
Small and private gym might be cheaper yet as far as i know this kind a gym filled almost 100% percent male. Maybe you can join off-peak type membership, this could shape price a little. Did you post this question in UK Y!A? If not, try that one.

the best gyms for ur money are the smaller ones privately owned i find they are cheaper..but that’s just my experience idk if they have alot of those in the UK
