Talk to the coach/es about your financial situation. Perhaps they can help -- whether by offering clinics at a reduced price or, as someone above me mentioned, giving you private lessons.

If that doesn't sound appealing, are there any adult players at your club whom you can play and learn from regularly? That way, you're paying only for the membership but still getting in quality tennis.

As for learning to string on your own, unless you already have access to one, you'll need to purchase a stringing machine (cost can vary from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars). Before you buy, you should factor whether it's cheaper to have it done at the club or on your own.
References :
I have made some free tennis videos that might help you. I filmed these with my coach, David, who has taught tennis at Davis Cup level.
Hope they are of use:

I find that if you get away from your coach you tend to decline as a player. You forget the little things that you learn and your great stroke might turn ugly. I think that if you leave group lessons take private lessons. Do this about a month or two before the high school tennis starts and after the season don't sit around doing nothing keep playing with your teammates.
References :
hey my freind, yes i see what you are saying, well if you feel almost totally bored and not motivated with the group lessons, why not just drop them... sometimes doing the same thing over, we hit a plateau.. that means a point where we do not gain anymore results.. it does seem kinda pricy as well. If i were you, i would just randomly hook up with some of these kids and play them outside of the lessons.. that way you still strengthen your skills and have fun doing it, cause you are playing matches... if u feel u need lessons again after a while, you should try one on one coaching at your conveinence... i hope this has helped you my freind... and yeah i understand what you mean when you say all the kids are rich white kids( sometimes kids who have so much so fast, they do not appreciate what they got), and they seem very different from kids who not have as much. but some of them can be nice as well. take it easy..
