DISCO HEALTH CLUB

WHY JUST EXERCISE – WHEN YOU CAN PARTY!

Launched on Wednesday 13th January 2010, Disco Health Club is an innovative concept that allows girls and guys to keep fit while dancing along to their favourite disco classics, all in the surroundings of a West End club.

Taking its inspiration from the 80s aerobic style of Olivia Newton John and Jane Fonda, Disco Health Club will inject some longed-for glamour and light hearted fun into keeping fit. Disco Health Club encourages you to shimmy into some shiny leggings, pull on the legwarmers, and dig out those retro sweatbands for a workout like no other!

While many find going to the gym a bore and struggle with strenuous exercise programmes, Londoners are quite happy to burn off up to 500 calories an hour strutting their stuff on a packed dance floor on a Saturday night. Disco Health Club takes the energetic aspects of clubbing, keeps the glamour and the DJs and provides an upbeat environment that is designed to encourage its guests to keep fit and lose weight while wearing fabulous clothes and having fun with their friends.

The night begins with a series of Disco-inspired aerobics classes, led by Disco Health Clubs expert instructor Lindsay Jay. The idea is that guests learn basic moves and dance combinations as the DJ plays. The room is lined with mirrors, making it the ideal location to perfect dance moves before letting your hair down. Lasers and lights add to the club atmosphere and hide any mistakes!

The bar will be serving soft drinks and juices throughout the evening, meaning those who decide to be good wont be tempted by booze. There are changing facilities and a coat check in the venue, and a hi-tech air conditioning unit ensures you’ll keep cool during the class.

Once the classes have finished, the venue opens up as a proper disco club night, and guests are encouraged to stay on, perfect their dance moves, and throw some shapes on the dance floor.
The DJ will be playing a mix of Disco classics from the 70’s and 80’s; expect to hear some Madonna, Chaka Khan, Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Wham!, Queen, and many more! You can even request tracks from the DJ before the class begins.

Brainchild of Fashion photographer and music producer, Thomas Knights, and disco club promoter Aubrey Dobson, Disco Health Club is set to shake up Londons scene, providing a true solution to those who really want to get healthy, but love their social life too much. Combining the two, and throwing in some American Apparel style fashion, Disco Health Club is a truly original way of getting the most out of your night out.
